Chennai: A charred body of a trainee at the Kalpakkam Nuclear power plant was found at Veppancherry near Koovathoor in Tamil Nadu on Tuesday, police said. The victim was identified as 25-year-old Satya Sairam, a native of Andhra Pradesh. He was working as a trainee at the Indira Gandhi Atomic Energy Research Center in Kalpakkam.
According to police, Sairam's friends informed his father that he left the quarters on Sunday and did not return following which his father Nageswara Rao lodged a missing complaint. Police launched a manhunt and found his charred body after two days. A case has been registered and further investigation into the matter is underway.
