Hyderabad: A cricket betting racket has been busted by the Cyberabad police in Hyderabad today. The gang was involved in betting on IPL cricket matches. Cyberabad Police Commissioner Stephen Ravindra has said that 23 bookies were arrested and Rs 93 lakh cash was seized and a total of Rs 2.2 crore worth of property was seized.

Commissioner Stephen Ravindra explained more about the IPL betting gang. The Cyberabad police raided a total of seven places in Hyderabad including Miyapur, Bachupally, Gachibowli, Mylar Devpalli, etc. The raid was carried out on a tip-off that betting was going on Mumbai vs Punjab IPL cricket match in Dubai.

The Police Commissioner also said that seven cases have been registered against those arrested in IPL cricket betting under the Gaming Act. He also added that the gang was running betting by taking information from the Layer app and they have a network in Mumbai, Goa, and Dubai. He also said that the Cyberabad police has written to Google to remove the betting apps.
