Bengaluru: A fire broke out at a hotel near Trinity Circle in Bengaluru on Monday night, damaging property worth several lakhs. Two people jumped to safety from the second floor of the building while firefighters rescued seven other people.
The impact of the fire was such that two floors of the building were largely gutted. Two persons — Rajappa and Suresh — who were on the second floor of the building at the time of the accident, jumped off in a bid to save their lives and sustained injuries. They are out of danger and recuperating, doctors said.

An auto-rickshaw and a pick-up vehicle in the parking area of the hotel were also burnt. It is suspected that the pick-up vehicle first caught fire due to a short circuit and the fire soon hit the electrical wiring of the hotel. The exact cause of the fire is, however, yet to be ascertained.
Meanwhile, a case has been registered.
