Dharmapuri (Tamil Nadu): A wild elephant was found in a well at Panchapalli Elakundur village near Palacode in Dharmapuri district.
Venkatachalam heard the sound of an elephant screaming in a well that belonged to him, earlier in the morning. Villagers soon gathered around the well and informed the Palacode Forest Officials department officials.
The officials rushed to the spot and are working towards evacuating the pachyderm as quickly as possible.
Officials said, "Elephant may have come from Panchapalli reserve forest and fell into a well nearby at night while searching for food. This elephant might 12 years old and it could be a female elephant."
Currently, there is no water in the well. The elephant is stuck at a depth of 50 feet. Forest officials are working to rescue elephant by setting up a sloping path near the well.
