'This victory is of self-reliant India', says PM Modi after BJP's hat-trick in Assembly Elections

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said that the BJP win on Sunday in the three states was historical and thanked the voters in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, where the saffron party came to power.

"Today's victory is historical. Today the feeling of Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas has won," Prime Minister Narendra Modi said while addressing BJP workers at the party headquarters here after the saffron party won three states - Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh and improved their tally in Telangana.

"The victory is of self-reliant India, honest, transparency, good governance. For me, there are only four castes - women, youth, farmers, and poor whose empowerment can strengthen the country. Every woman is seeing their victory in this win. Every citizen is seeing this win as a success. I want to congratulate the women of the country. The women gave blessings to us. I want to tell women that the promises made by the BJP will be fulfilled and this is Modi's guarantee," the Prime Minister added.

"Youths of this country want only development, whoever has worked against their interests have been ousted. Dissatisfaction among youths over paper leaks and recruitment scams led to the ouster of governments in Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, and Telangana," the PM said as he hit out at the Congress and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS).

PM Narendra Modi specifically thanked the people of Telangana and asserted that the BJP will leave no stone unturned in working for them. "Some people are saying that today's hat-trick has given a guarantee for 2024 (Lok Sabha polls) hat-trick," he quipped.

"People are supporting the anti-corruption campaign initiated by the BJP-led government at the Centre. These results are a big lesson for Congress and 'ghamandis'," Prime Minister Narendra Modi said as he slammed the INDIA alliance.

Taking a jibe at the India alliance led by the Congress, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, "Coming together on stage can yield good photo opportunities and media headlines, but cannot win peoples' trust. Mend your ways or people will throw you out."

The Prime Minister also listed the achievements of his government on various fronts including the economic one and added that the responsibility of BJP workers has increased. The PM also appealed to the BJP workers to help the state governments, which could be affected by Cyclone Michaung.

"I want to thank all the party workers," the Prime Minister concluded.

While the BJP retained power in Madhya Pradesh, it wrested power from the Congress in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh. Earlier, he arrived at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarters in the evening after the party registered a win in three states to celebrate the emphatic victory. The Prime Minister was welcomed by BJP chief JP Nadda.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also praised JP Nadda and mentioned how the party leader from Himachal Pradesh plunged into the poll campaign despite suffering a personal bereavement.

BJP chief JP Nadda, Union Ministers Amit Shah (Home), Rajnath Singh (Defence), Smriti Irani (Women and Child Development), Anurag Thakur (Information and Broadcasting), Piyush Goyal (Commerce) and a host of senior BJP leaders were present on the occasion. The counting of votes in the four states, which went to the polls last month, started at 8 am on Sunday and after a few hours, it was clear that the saffron party would form the government in three states.

JP Nadda while addressing the workers said that the BJP under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has registered a resounding win. The PM also lauded Nadda for the hard work he put in.

Hailing PM Narendra Modi's leadership, the BJP chief added, "This poll also reinforces the fact that there is only one guarantee in the country and that is Modi guarantee. The country has backed development". JP Nadda also slammed Congress leaders for below-the-belt comments over Prime Minister Narendra Modi and quipped, "Opposition alliance sheds crocodile tears for OBCs, but forgets that an OBC is the Prime Minister of the country."

The BJP workers started arriving at the party headquarters in the afternoon, where celebrations erupted.
