New Delhi: Even as the newly appointed ministers took charge of their respective ministries after the Cabinet reshuffle, the Congress party took a jibe at various ministers, including its own ex-member Jyotiraditya Scindia, who has been given the charge of Union Minister of Civil Aviation, by calling him "saleable". Indian Youth Congress (IYC) Chief, Srinivas BV, on Friday, tweeted a cartoon of Air India with Scindia, stating, "We both are saleable."
Speaking to ETV Bharat, Congress general secretary Tariq Anwar said, "Nothing wrong has been said about him. In Madhya Pradesh, Congress had an elected government. Scindia played a key role in destabilizing the Congress government in the state. Everyone knew that Scindia will be offered a ministerial post as BJP had given him assurance."
Apart from him, Madhya Pradesh Congress working president Jitu Patwari also attacked Scindia by tweeting after the oath ceremony, "Today the deal has been completed." Meanwhile, Congress also took a jibe at Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Minister of State for External Affairs Meenakshi Lekhi.
As Amit Shah has also been given a new portfolio of the Ministry of Cooperation, Anwar said, "Amit Shah is handling the entire country. If one more portfolio has been added to him, what's the big deal?"
On the other hand, in her first interview, after taking the charge, Meenakshi Lekhi made a controversial statement by saying, "Some countries have expertise in making viruses, we have in making vaccines."
Over this, the Congress leader said, "She is a newly appointed minister and people gets excited after getting such posts. She will say a lot more things in future because of this excitement." On Thursday, soon after taking charge as the Minister of Railways, Ashwani Vaishnav passed orders for the officials and staff of the ministerial cell to work in two shifts, i.e. from 7 am till 4 pm and from 3 pm till 12 midnight.
"I don't think it's going to benefit more. If work is done in a time-bound manner and if your officers are sincere, everything gets sorted. When the newly appointed ministers make such announcements, it shows that they lack experience," Anwar opined.
