BJP slams Opposition for 'misleading' people on Covid-19

BJP National Spokesperson Gopal Krishna Agarwal slammed Opposition parties for "misleading" people on Covid-19. He also said that the curve is flattening in a few states and the situation will soon be under control across the country as the central government is committed to providing vaccines and medical oxygen to all the states.

New Delhi: As citizens are grappling with the second wave of Covid-19 in the country, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National Spokesperson Gopal Krishna Agarwal hit out at Opposition parties saying that they are "misleading" people instead of fighting this crisis along with the government.

Speaking to ETV Bharat, he said that some states governments are also just indulging in "blame-game politics" instead of tackling the prevailing pandemic.

"The states like Maharashtra and Delhi are continuously blaming the central government instead of working together at this time of crisis. It's good to see that curve is flattening in Maharashtra but Delhi is still grappling," he added.

Agarwal also applauded the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for taking strong measures to reduce the number of Covid cases in the state.

He further said that the curve is flattening in a few states and the situation will soon be under control across the country as the central government is committed to providing vaccines and medical oxygen to all the states.

India saw a record 4,205 Covid-19 fatalities in a day taking the death toll to 2,54,197, while 3,48,421 new coronavirus infections were reported, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Wednesday.

The total tally of Covid-19 cases in the country now stands at 2,33,40,938. The active cases have reduced to 37,04,099 comprising 15.87 per cent.
