New Delhi: Mahesh Poddar, a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party slammed coalition government of Jharkhand on its completion of one year, alleging that many government institutions have been weakened and the government's inefficiency has been exposed.
He cited the weakening of the Jharkhand State Information Commission and the Election Commission by the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), Congress, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) coalition government. Panchayats and municipal bodies were not formed in the state, said the Rajya Sabha MP.
He also alleged that unlike other state governments, the Jharkhand government did not aid farmers. He also added that during the BJP rule from 2014 to 2019, farmers were given Rs 5,000 per acre while the coalition government turned down such benefits of the farmers.
Currently, farmers in Jharkhand hardly earn Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000 per acre a year. Jharkhand is the reliance for farmers across the country, he added.
As Chief Minister of Jharkhand Hemant Soren would present the report of his one year of governance, promises including 100 units of free electricity, unemployment allowance, permanent contract workers remain unfulfilled. He also alleged that five lakh job creation was also not witnessed as promised.
Reports said that the BJP has released an assessment report on one year of governance of the JMM-Congress-RJD government in Jharkhand. The report alleged the government resorted to appeasement politics. It critiqued on unemployment, farmers' issue, health care and development activities of the government, as per reports.
