New Delhi: Indian Youth Congress President Srinivas BV has sent a legal notice to BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra, on Tuesday, as he took a dig at Congress party after its youth wing functionaries were caught allegedly smuggling liquor, saying that this has exposed the opposition party's "character".

Youth Congress accused Patra for levelling "imaginary" allegations of illegal liquor smuggling in the car of Srinivas BV, in one of his tweets, done on Tuesday at 10:45 am. Amit Malviya also put up a similar tweet against Congress party which later on got flashed in Republic TV without carrying out any verification.

IYC President Shrinivas BV called the arrest as a "conspiracy", which he claimed, was aimed at defaming his organization's relief work to help poor during the ongoing lockdown.

According to Delhi Police, Shravan Rao and Manish were arrested on Sunday night, near Delhi-Gurgaon border with illicit liquor. After their arrest, BJP claimed that they are associated with the youth wing of Congress party.
