The Rajasthan government forwarded a revised recommendation to Governor Kalraj Mishra for calling an assembly session from July 31 after the Cabinet discussed the points raised by the governor on the issue. The governor had earlier returned the Cabinet's recommendation for calling an assembly session from July 31, saying that a 21-day notice should be given for calling the session.
2. No respite to AK Bassi: SC refuses to entertain his plea challenging transfer to Port Blair
The Apex Court refused to entertain the petition filed by CBI officer AK Bassi who approached the Court challenging his transfer to Port Blair. Mr Bassi, who was the investigating officer in an alleged corruption case against former CBI No. 2 Rakesh Asthana, said that he is being "victimised by the present CBI director M Nageswara Rao".
