Delhi: In an exclusive interview with ETV Bharat, Playing down AAP's criticism, Delhi Chief Electoral Officer Ranbir Singh said that there was no unusual delay in announcing the final voter turnout as the returning officers were busy with the scrutiny of data to ensure its accuracy.
As the polling for Delhi elections concluded on February 8, Aam Aadmi Party leader Sanjay Singh blamed the Election Commission for not putting out the percentage of voter turnout. Sanjay Singh accused the election commission of internal politics, citing examples of elections during the ballot system.

In one of the tweets, Kejriwal said "Absolutely shocking. What is EC doing? Why are they not releasing poll turnout figures, several hours after polling?".
"Returning officers were very busy throughout the night as the polling continued till 6. Thereafter, scrutiny was done, followed by assembly-wise data entry. In data entry, it's very important to maintain accuracy so ultimately it took time" Singh added.
On being asked about Babarpur Vidhan Sabha constituency, Singh said that an officer was seen carrying EVM in hand to the election centre, after an investigation, it was found out that polling booth was at a very distant place, hence he had to walk that distance.
The Election Commission on Sunday declared that the final voter turnout in Delhi assembly elections was 62.59%.
