The Tagaru Kalaga or (ram battle) is a staple feature during Vijaydashmi celebrations in Kamaripete. The ram battle is considered a sign of friendship and love.

Hubli: The Dasara festival is celebrated every year in Kamaripete in a unique way. The Ram battle during Vijayadashami is the most enjoyable celebration here.

The Dussehra and Tagaru festivals (The Ram battle) are celebrated every year. But this time the celebration is quite simple amid Corona. The people of the town say that the Tagaru Kalaga (Ram fight) is the symbol of friendship and love.

Vijaya Dashami has been celebrated with Tagaru (ram) battle for many years and it has a historical heritage. Generally, goats possessing the same number of teeth are pitted against each other.

The Sahasrarjuna Kshatriya (SSK) Community is the organiser of this event. Once the event is over, the goats are sacrificed in the name of Goddess Kali.
