New Delhi: The Supreme Court bench comprising of Justice Ashok Bhushan and Justice Navin Sinha upheld the Punjab and Haryana High Court's order which cancelled the recruitment of around 2000 Physical Training Instructors in 2010.
The instructors were recruited in Haryana schools during the Congress government led by former CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda in 2010.

Citing the grounds for striking down the recruitment, the court said that the recruitment process was arbitrary and compromised with the standards needed for PTI.
The court had observed that the written results were very poor and in this case the recruitment was done on the basis of interviews.
The marks were also changed of the candidates. Candidates who could not secure enough in paper were given more in interview. Supreme Court was approached by the candidates affected after the High Court order where it had initially stayed the order and had given relief to the PTIs.
