Chennai: Rajinikanth keeps everyone guessing on joining politics after party meet in Rajini Makkal Mandram (RMM) at Raghavendra hall in the city. "I will announce my decision on political entry as soon as possible," said the actor.
"I met Rajini Makkal Mandram district secretaries today. They shared their views with me and I shared mine too. They assured that they will support me on whatever decision I make. I will announce my decision soon", he said.
Rajinikanth greeted supporters after the meeting with district secretaries of his party.
In October this year, the actor hinted that his long-awaited entry to electoral politics may be delayed.
A letter attributed to him cited doctors' concern over campaigning during the pandemic and the potential impact on Rajinikanth's health.
The letter seemed to indicate the actor had been advised to restrict travel since he has a kidney condition and could be vulnerable to the COVID-19 virus.
Last week, during Home Minister Amit Shah's visit, the ruling All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) said that it would continue its alliance with the BJP, which has a negligible presence in the state and has been courting Rajinikanth for a long time.
However, the meeting between Shah and Rajinikanth is yet to happen.
It was in 2017, Rajinikanth announced that he will float a party and contest in all the 234 constituencies in the assembly election.
