Varanasi: Pooja Chaurasia, a budding rifle shooter from Varanasi dreams of making the country proud by winning an Olympic Gold, but her financial difficulties are proving to be an obstacle.
Pooja, who was introduced to the sport in NCC during her school days, has won medals in many state-level competitions for Varanasi.
However, the ace shooter's journey so far has not proved to be a smooth one.
According to Pooja's father, the family has been facing financial difficulties after her mother met with a terrible accident, and Pooja's dream might now be difficult to fulfil.
Narrating her daily struggle, Pooja said that the rifle club where she goes for practice has only one rifle, due to which she gets very less time for practice. She also said that she does not have enough money to buy her own kit.
But these difficulties have failed to deter the young shooter. With a never-say-die attitude, she said that she does not want to quit the game under any circumstances.
Pooja, who recently won multiple medals, including a Gold in the Uttar Pradesh State Shooting Competition, has been trying hard to overcome every challenge to make her country proud
