Nigerian arrested for drug possession in Hyderabad

The Hyderabad city police on Saturday arrested a Nigerian national identified as Jaun Paul Oneybuchi for possession of proscribed narcotic substance including 20 grams of cocaine and nine ecstasy pills (MDMA).

Hyderabad (Telangana): A Nigerian national was arrested in Hyderabad on Saturday for alleged possession of proscribed narcotic substance including 20 grams of cocaine and nine ecstasy pills (MDMA).

"We have recovered 20 grams of cocaine, nine ecstasy pills (MDMA) from the Nigerian national nabbed on April 27," said Anjani Kumar, Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad city.

Identified as Jaun Paul Oneybuchi hailing from Lagos, Nigeria, the accused came to India in October 2008 on a visiting visa.

Oneybuchi is reported to be a habitual offender who was earlier arrested in two narcotic related cases in 2016 and 2017.

"He used to buy cocaine at very cheap rates from Goa and sell the same at relatively higher prices to his clients in Hyderabad, " said Kumar.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered in the matter and further investigation into his network with local and foreign drug dealers is on.
