Chhattisgarh: Security forces in the forests of Dantewada district's Tumkapal district killed a Naxal deputy commander, carrying a cash reward of Rs 8 lakh on Tuesday morning.
A constable of the District Reserve Guards, Kailash Netam also died during the encounter, said Dantewada SP Abhishek Pallav.
In a press note released earlier, it was said that Netam died of a heart attack which the police officials later clarified to be a misunderstanding.
An x-ray of the jawan revealed a bullet stuck near his abdomen. The fact that no blood appeared on his body after he was shot, confused the other officials.
Police said that the Naxals were heading towards Sukma to carry out a major attack on security forces when they were intercepted.
