Hyderabad: Over 300 labourers from Chhattishgarh have been left stranded in Hyderabad, over 1000 kilometres away from their homeland, following the nationwide lockdown clamped to prevent the spread of novel coronavirus.

They have appealed to the CM Bhupesh Baghel government to make transport arrangements so that they can return back to their homeland. The migrant workers hail from Rajnandgaon district.

Stranded workers said that they are facing a lot of difficulties and fear of lack of resources are looming over their heads.

"We never knew we would be stuck here for so long. When the lockdown was observed on March 24, we thought it would be just a 21-day affair. We want to go home. We are left with almost no money. Please rescue us from here and help us to reach our home in Chhattisgarh," a labourer said.
