Chandigarh: The Congress leaders on Wednesday castigated Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for branding the bills passed by the Punjab Vidhan Sabha as ‘Drama’ and said that this act of Kejriwal has once again proved that he is not even remotely concerned about Punjab or its interests.
In a press communique, the Cabinet Minister S. Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and MLAs Darshan Singh Brar, Kulbir Singh Zira, Barindermeet Singh Pahra and Pritam Singh Kotbhai said that Kejriwal himself despite being a Chief Minister of the State is oblivious of the fact that agriculture is a State Subject and the states have every right to frame laws regarding the subject. They also said that Kejriwal has insulted the Punjab Vidhan Sabha.
The Congress leaders were reacting to a tweet by Kejriwas in which he labelled as Drama the bills passed by the State Vidhan Sabha.
The criticism of the unanimous decision of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha by Kejriwal has made it clear that the Punjab unit of AAP is a mere puppet in the hands of Delhi leaders. Yesterday, the same party supported the bills and were part of the delegation that met the Governor. Now, with a cue from Delhi leadership, the leader of opposition also took a u-turn.
The Cabinet Minister and the MLAs said that it is not the first time that Kejriwal has stabbed Punjab in the back as earlier also he has made anti-Punjab statements.
This is the same Kejriwal who cast an evil eye upon the river waters of Punjab and blamed the farmers of Punjab for pollution in Delhi. When the farmer unions are supporting bills brought by the State Government then who is Kejriwal to give certificates on the issue.
The Congress leaders also challenged Kejriwal to bring such a bill in the Delhi Vidhan Sabha if he considers the move by Punjab Government as Drama.
Challenging AAP leaders of Punjab, the Congress leaders said that if they have some self-respect left then they must oppose the tweet by Delhi Chief Minister. It is only Captain Amarinder Singh who without caring for the party high command and UPA Government at the centre in 2004, terminated the water agreements.
