Uttar Pradesh police shot rapist before arresting him

Three police teams set out to hunt down the suspect Rajesh Pasi and the shooting took place in Puramufti area, reports said.

Kaushambi: Police in Uttar Pradesh shot and wounded a suspected rapist before taking him into custody on Friday.

Rajesh Pasi, also knows as Hero, is a key suspect in the rape and murder of a girl in Kaushambi district.

Three police teams set out to hunt him down and the shooting took place in Puramufti area, reports said.

Acting on a tip-off, the police went to Mahgawan where Pasi was arrested.

He was shot in the leg and later admitted to the district hospital before being taken to Prayagraj.
