Bengaluru: Karnataka's first Kisan train will start its journey from September 19.
As announced in the central government budget of 2020-21, a chain of continuous supply of milk, meat, fish, and other degradable ingredients will be dispatched. Indian Railways has started Kisan Rail with Public and Private Partnership (PPP).
Each of these trains will ferry various produce of the farmers to different places across the country. The first such train, the Kisan Express will be running from the KSR Bengaluru H. Nizamuddin. The train will pass through Mysuru, Hubballi, and Pune helping farmers along the route to load up their products for consignees in other parts of the country at a cheaper price.
Kisan trains are multi-mode freighters, multi-carriers, and multi-mode customers. There are many stops between the station and the terminal station, which allow loading and unloading of goods at all stops.

The scheduled departure for the special train from KSR Bengaluru is at 5.45 pm on Saturdays & is estimated to reach H. Nizamuddin station in Delhi at 11.45 pm on Mondays. The Kisan Rail will do 5 trips from Bengaluru, starting on 19.09.2020 and the last service will be on 17.10.2020
The train is scheduled to have multiple stops to help farmers in Mysuru, Hassan, Arasikere, Davanagere, Hubballi, Belagavi, Miraj, Pune Manmad, Bhusaval, Itarsi, Bhopal, Jhansi, Agra Cantonment and Mathura in both directions. No Passengers will not be allowed to travel on the train. It is expected to make the process of moving production of the farmers cheaper than any other mode opted earlier.
