'Have been maintaining political decorum despite ideological differences'

BJP leader Jyotiraditya Scindia said that he comes from a family where political decorum is maintained despite ideological differences. He was responding to a question on Digvijay Singh's verbal attack on him in the Parliament.

Gwalior: A day after BJP leader Jyotiraditya Scindia and Congress leader Digvijay Singh launched no-holds-barred attacks on each other's parties in the Parliament, the former said that he comes from a family where political decorum is maintained despite ideological differences.

Talking about the interlude exchanged in Parliament, the BJP leader told reporters, "There can be differences in political ideologies. I come from a family where we maintain political decorum despite having differences. I have tried to maintain this in my 20-year-long political career. We had a discussion in the Parliament and everything has been said from both the sides."

Scindia also extended his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and President of Finance Commission for allocating funds for various schemes in Madhya Pradesh.

Funds for the water supply scheme from the Chambal river to Gwalior and Morena worth Rs 250 crores, funds for weavers of Chanderi sarees and for the tourism of Gwalior-Shivpuri-Chanderi area worth Rs 75 crores and Rs 75 crore for the maintenance of the Mahakaleshwar temple have been provided in the Union Budget 2021-22.

"It is a matter of happiness that in the Union budget, Rs 250 crore is allocated for the water supply scheme from Chambal river to Gwalior and Morena, Rs 75 crore for the development of the famous Chanderi (sari) weavers and for the tourism of Gwalior-Shivpuri-Chanderi area, and Rs 75 crore for the maintenance of the Mahakaleshwar temple," Scindia said.

Responding to Uma Bharti's statewide campaign against liquor and drug abuse, the leader said, "This matter pertains to Uma Bharti and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan. CM makes various policies for the state and I don't want to comment on the matter."

Scindia said that like every year, we are trying to promote Gwalior trade fair, adding that there has been a huge turnover in the state and this year too, despite COVID-19, the revenue figures are similar to that of last year."

Commenting on BJP's Madhya Pradesh in-charge P Muralidhar Rao terming him as the leader of the entire party, Jyotiraditya Scindia said, "There is no groupism in the party and everyone in BJP are its workers. I am also a worker of the party."
