Hamirpur: Ajay Sharma of Hamirpur district has set a new world record by performing Vrikshasana, which is considered to be the most difficult posture in yoga, for 1 hour 30 minutes and 30 seconds.
Ajay Sharma has won in an online yoga competition organized by All India Yoga Organization where contestants from 17 states across the country participated.
Ajay Sharma who comes from a small village of Hamirpur has also stressed the need for yoga as it helps keep people away from diseases. He advises everyone to adopt yoga in their life.
Ajay Sharma who is a lecturer at Mattahani School has been practising yoga since childhood.
Ajay Sharma's family is overjoyed at his achievement.
The Online Yoga Book of Record Competition was organized by the All India Yoga Organization on September 13.
Earlier, an 11-year-old Nidhi Dogra of Hamirpur district had created a world record by doing various yoga positions in 1 minute and now Ajay Sharma has set another world record in the field of yoga.
