He said: "Paise dekar aap kisiko bhi saath le sakte ho (You can buy anyone with the help of money)."

Azad made this remark after a video of Doval interacting with locals in the Shopian district went viral.

Doval was seen interacting with a few locals in the shut-down market over food and inquired about their well being. He also explained to them the Centre's decision, assuring them that their welfare was the government's prime concern.

NSA Ajit Doval is on a visit to Jammu and Kashmir to take stock of the security situation even as all the three services are on high alert to deal with any fallout of the bifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir into two Union Territories and withdrawal of special status to the state.

In the run-up to the decision to reorganize the state, Doval had reviewed the situation and additional troops were sent to the Kashmir Valley following his meetings with state administration officials.

After Doval, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is also likely to tour the area.
