Fuel tank of Tejas aircraft falls on an agriculture field in TN

The 1200-litre petrol tank fell off from Tejas aircraft on to an agricultural field in Tamil Nadu's Coimbatore on Tuesday. It caused a three-foot deep crater and a minor fire but the combat jet landed safely at the nearby Sulur Air Force station.

Coimbatore: Fuel tank of a Tejas aircraft, which was on a sortie, fell on an agricultural field in the city's outskirts.

Defence sources in Chennai confirmed that a fuel tank from Tejas aircraft fell and said "all (was) safe", indicating that there were no injuries.

Agriculture workers in Irugur village were shocked to see the 1200-litre petrol tank fall from the sky.

According to police, it caused a three-foot deep crater and a minor fire.

They further added that the combat jet landed safely in the nearby Sulur Air Force station.
