New Delhi: Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has written to all web portals and websites within its ambit to conduct a security audit and submit a certificate. This letter is a reminder to a similar letter that was sent by the Department of Telecommunication in October 2019.
The letter was sent after the department was alerted about data ex-filtration that was taking place from one of the web portals and they did not have a valid security audit certificate.

The letter also asked govt portals add a website to upgrade systems and online security used for official purposes.
As per Government sources report on possible cyber attacks on government websites and Portal haven't submitted to Indian Computer Emergency Response team under Ministry of Electronics and IT.
After the clash between Indian and Chinese troops at the border in June, Government of India decided to ban 59 Chinese apps. After the ban cyberattacks increased in India as per government sources.
