Hyderabad: India's new cases of the coronavirus infection reached a record high on Sunday. Meanwhile, India's COVID-19 case count crossed the eight lakh-mark on Saturday with yet another highest single-day spike of 28,637 new cases in the last 24 hours. Five states -- Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh -- have contributed the maximum to the single-day spike.

Rajouri and Kirti Nagar sealed after 14 corona positive patients reported
New Delhi: The Delhi government on Sunday decided to seal two major parts of West Delhi, Rajouri and Kirti Nagar after 14 new Covid-19 positive cases were reported from the area. Teams of district administration and civil defence are sealing new areas every day. Now on one side, 10 positive patients have appeared in V block of Rajouri Garden and 4 positives have been found in Kirti Nagar. In Rajouri Garden, 6 people of the same family are Corona positive. Now, these areas will be completely closed for the next 28 days. There will not be any kind of movement here.

Two cops test positive for coronavirus in Jodhpur
Jodhpur: Two policemen tested positive for novel coronavirus in Jodhpur's Karvad police station in Rajasthan on Sunday. The city municipal workers have initiated the process to disinfect and fumigate the respective police stations. Other policemen who were in contact with the cops have been quarantined, a senior police officer said, adding that further contact tracing is underway.

Madhya Pradesh likely to enforce 7-day complete lockdown as COVID-19 cases surge
Bhopal: Alarmed over the sudden rise in COVID-19 cases in Madhya Pradesh, a day-long lockdown was imposed across the state today. On Sunday, a total of 106 cases reported in Bhopal, 111 in Gwalior, 101 in Morena and 89 corona positive patients have been found in Indore. With this, the number of corona patients in the state has increased to 17 thousand. A complete lockdown for 7 days is likely to be imposed on Monday.
