COVID-19: Harsh Vardhan interacts with state health ministers via video conference

Amid the coronavirus-induced lockdown, Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan held a meeting via video-conferencing with state health ministers and reviewed actions on COVID-19 management.

New Delhi: Amid COVID-19 pandemic and nationwide lockdown, Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan held a meeting via video conferencing with state health ministers and reviewed actions on COVID-19 management.

He was accompanied by MoS (Health and Family Welfare) Ashwini Choubey.

According to sources, taking stock of the situation, Harsh Vardhan asked the state governments to keep PPEs, N95 masks, ventilators and all other medical equipment in stock for emergency.

"There should not be any shortage of medical equipment," he said.

The Union Minister also congratulated all the state health ministers for their contributions in making the lockdown and social distancing measures successful, sources said.

It is to be noted that the total number of COVID-19 positive cases in the country stands at 23,077 with 718 deaths. Maharashtra has reported the most number of cases at 6,430, followed by Gujarat that reported 2,624 cases.
