The Central Armed Police Forces on Monday reported that as many as 13 jawans have been tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

New Delhi: The number of active coronavirus cases in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) rose to 763 with as many as 13 jawans have been tested positive for the infection on Monday.

The Border Security Force (BSF) reported 6 fresh cases of COVID-19 among its personnel in the last 24 hours. Out of 282 COVID-19 patients, four BSF personnel are from Kolkata and one each from Tripura and Delhi.

"All the infected BSF personnel are undergoing treatment in designated COVID Health Care hospitals. One Covid-19 positive BSF staff from Delhi, a soldier with BSF’s 126 Battalion is admitted to AIIMS Jhajjar and has almost recovered," the force statement read.

On Sunday, the Border Security Force had reported 18 new cases of Covid-19, taking the total number of coronavirus cases in the force to 276.

The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) recorded 1 new case in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases in the force to 156. The force said that one of its personnel has recovered from the disease.

Meanwhile, three Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel have also been infected by the coronavirus in the span of one day, taking the total tally in paramilitary force to 66.

"All three personnel who have tested positive for the coronavirus infection were deployed at the Ahmedabad airport," said CISF in the statement.

The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), the country’s largest paramilitary force with 3.25 lakh personnel, reported three fresh cases, taking the tally of its active COVID-19 cases to 240. The force has reported 240 cases of COVID-19 of which 236 are active cases while 3 have recovered and 1 has died.

The Sashastra Seema Bal, which has a strength of 80,000 personnel, reported no fresh case and has the least 18 active coronavirus cases.
