New Delhi: Terming Congress a "divided house", the BJP on Monday said it lacks a collective voice and hence its leaders would make a complete about-turn on the stated position of the party.
"Earlier, it was Sonia Gandhi who would say something on issues, now the entire range of leaders make statements in their individual capacities," he said while referring to Congress leader Abhishek Singhvi's comment wherein he called controversial figure Veer Savarkar a "freedom fighter who did a lot for the country".
"Congress had opposed Bharat Ratna for Veer Savarkar, now Congress leaders like him accepting the fact he (Veer Savarkar) contributed for the nation," he said, adding that Congress, on many occasions, had opposed anything and everything related to him.
Singhvi had, earlier, said that though he did not personally subscribe to Savarkar’s ideology, he was nonetheless an “accomplished man” who played a part in the freedom struggle.
