New Delhi: As the last phase polling for 59 parliamentary constituencies in eight states was over on Sunday, BJP claimed a thumping majority for the second consecutive Modi-led NDA government at the center.
"We are confident that BJP will come back to power with a majority of its own and form the government with its NDA partners," Verma told ETV Bharat.
Asked to respond to the widespread poll violence in West Bengal during the elections, he said, "TMC chief, Mamata Banerjee has ushered in the violence in Bengal with perfection resulting into clashes during all seven phases of the Lok Sabha polls."
Blaming the ruling Trinamool Congress for the violence, he asked, why is the West Bengal only state witnessing violence and not the BJP ruling states. "It shows her insecurity towards the political challenge given by BJP in the state," he added.
Replying to opposition's remarks on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Kedarnath shrine, he said, "PM Modi is a man of principles who always believed in the idea of giving. He went to the Kedarnath shrine and prayed for the wellbeing of the people of this country from whom he is getting all support. The opposition couldn't take this and that is why they are accusing Modi Ji".
The BJP spokesperson sounded confident over Modi's winning in Varanasi. he said, "Modi Ji has done a lot for Varanasi and the people of Varanasi know this. They will definitely support him."
Even if the opposition parties are having discussions over the formation of the government, Verma said that it will not have any impact on the BJP leadership and we will win the polls with a high majority.
