New Delhi: After Uddhav Thackeray-led government swept floor test on Saturday, BJP slammed the 'Maha Vikas Aghadi' for changing protem speaker.
Speaking to ETV Bharat, BJP national spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain said, "People gave the mandate to BJP-Shiv Sena alliance but NCP and Congress supported Shiv Sena to form government in Maharashtra. They passed the floor test in Vidhan Sabha, but how will they explain its 'secular' alliance to the public?"
He also asked why the tradition of playing Vande Matram at the oath-taking ceremony was broken.
"We are strong opposition of 105 MLAs. BJP will keep an eye on Maharashtra government," he added.
The ruling alliance replaced BJP's Kalidas Kolambkar with NCP's Dilip Walse Patil as the protem speaker ahead of the floor test.
Why are they insecure if they have the support of all the MLAs," Shahnawaz asked.
"Shiv Sena has formed a government by cheating people of Maharashtra. NCP and Congress supported it. We will stand by the people of the state and their issues, "
