Hyderabad: Arjun Ram Meghwal, a BJP minister from Rajasthan, just launched a 'crisp drug' to curtail the community spread of novel coronavirus in the country. The 'drug' is nothing but papad, the quintessential side dish in Indian households.

According to the minister, the brand of papad called “Bhabhiji Papad” can help develop antibodies needed to fight the coronavirus.

Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs' contribution to the vaccine research attempts cannot be laughed at as papad is the undisputed food item which is available, accessible and affordable to one and all.

What is even more baffling is the union minister's commitment to the self-reliance campaign, under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative, as Meghwal claimed that an indigenous papad manufacturer came up with the product that will aid the formation of antibodies.

Minister Mehgwal had tweeted the video claiming the papad will prove very useful in the fight against coronavirus. However, the tweet is now missing from his timeline, hours after getting trolled in the social media.

Earlier, Yoga guru Ramdev-run Patanjali Ayurved had claimed that it has discovered a substantial cure for coronavirus with 80 per cent success rate as per reports. It later clarified its stand and said the coronil kit is to build immunity and has not been tested on COVID positive patients.
