New Delhi: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), which administers the Sri Balaji Temple in Andhra Pradesh, has decided to auction its 50 immovable properties, resulting in a hue and cry being raised over the sales.
Following this, BJP Rajya Sabha member and member of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, Rakesh Sinha urged the TTD to stop the auction respecting the sentiments of devotees.
Speaking on this, Sinha said that he has written a letter to TTD president Subba Reddy showing his objection to the decision.
"I demand that decision taken in 2016 to auction the properties should be reconsidered. It is the matter related to the sentiments of the people and there is an urgent need to rethink on this matter," said Sinha.
It is to be noted that the properties proposed for auction include houses, house sites, vacant lands and agricultural lands. While the house sites measure between one cent to five cents, the agricultural lands measure around 10 cents to less than an acre.
