Advocate Ranjit Kumar makes reference to the statement given by Abdul Ghani who said that the disputed site was referred as Ramjanmabhoomi and that the Mosque was built on the disputed site where articles and idols have been recovered which is against the tenets of Shariat Law and that the disputed site should be handed over to the Hindus.

Justice Bobde questions whether Abdul Ghani was a Shia or a Sunni?

Ranjit Kumar: I have instructions to say that he was a Sunni Muslim.

CJI-“Where is the application by which you brought on record these affidavits and what was the order of the magistrate with regard to it?”

Ranjit Kumar produced Certain orders passed in 145 order and the exhibits.

The affidavits which were filed pursuant to the 145 order have not been accepted by the trial court.

Mr Ranjit Kumar reads an order of the Trial Court passed on 29.12.1949 where the Muslim party was called at the Ayodhya Police station to submit their written statements.

The notice was to be published in the Hindu Daily, Muslim Daily and English Daily.

The only ground why the exhibits and affidavits were not accepted by the Court was because the deponents were not present during cross-examination.

Senior advocate Ranjit Kumar commences arguments before the bench

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Thursday commenced hearing in the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid case for the 10th day, with counsel for one of the original litigants seeking enforcement of his rights to worship at the disputed site.

A five-Judge bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi was hearing the title dispute.

Senior advocate Ranjit Kumar, appearing for Gopal Singh Visharad, one of the original litigants, commenced arguments before the bench.

Fourteen appeals have been filed in the apex court against the 2010 Allahabad High Court judgment, delivered in four civil suits, that the 2.77-acre land in Ayodhya be partitioned equally among the three parties -- the Sunni Waqf Board, the Nirmohi Akhara and Ram Lalla.

Babri Masjid was demolished by right-wing activists on December 6, 1992 in Ayodhya, leading to a protracted legal battle.
