Jodhpur: An officer from Indian Army’s Special Forces unit lost his life on Thursday while practising specialist operations in the Kaylana lake near Jodhpur city of Rajasthan. The officer had jumped into the lake from a helicopter.
A total of four para commandos jumped into the lake from a helicopter but one officer lost his life.
When the jawan did not come out of the lake for hours, IAF and divers reached the spot and started the rescue operations. Divers, along with the local police, carried out the operation for long but missing jawan was nowhere to be found.
Special operations (S.O.) are military activities conducted by "specially designated, organized, selected, trained, and equipped forces using unconventional techniques and modes of employment.
