The Union Minister was on a two-day visit to Karnataka during which he inaugurated various projects and held meetings with the party leaders.

Bengaluru (Karnataka): Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday instructed party leaders at the core committee meeting to further enhance the government's image in Karnataka. He said that programs for image enhancement should be undertaken and ensure that such programs are delivered to the public.

He also instructed the party members to work hard for the district panchayat and taluk panchayat elections in order to win the hearts of people.

Significant discussions were also held on the selection of candidates for the Belagavi Lok Sabha, Basavakalyana and Muski assembly by-elections, Zilla Panchayat and Taluk Panchayat elections.

The party should not look back in the by-elections and other elections too. The party's performance in the recent by-election has been satisfactory. But, it should not be over-confident, Amit Shah said.

State leaders were instructed to sorts out grievances and not allow internal rift within the party.

Meeting with selected leaders after CM departure:

Amit Shah held a special meeting of the core committee of the state BJP unit at a private hotel in the city.

It is interesting that the meeting was held after the departure of CM BS Yeddyurappa. The political activity took place late Saturday night in a private hotel in the city. The BJP core committee meeting which started late lasted for an hour. After the meeting, Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa, Home Minister Basavaraja Bommai and Revenue Minister R. Ashok departed.

After the CM's departure, Amit Shah held a separate meeting with four BJP leaders in his room. They were National Organization Secretary-General B. L. Santosh, National Secretary General C. T. Ravi, President Nalin Kumar Kateel and Union Minister Prahlad Joshi and briefly consulted on the state political affairs.

It has been reported that the CD controversy of CM has been the subject of widespread debate in the state. A separate meeting was held following the departure of CM as the CD issue was connected with CM Yeddyurappa.
