New Delhi: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal has asked the party's Delhi unit and the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) to support 'Delhi Chalo' call of farmer organisations on November 26 against the Centre's farm laws.

After pulling out of the NDA in protest against the contentious farm laws enacted by Union Government, SAD asked its workers in the national capital to extend all possible help to farmers.

Farmer organisations have chosen November 26, the National Constitution Day, to protest against the farm laws in the national capital.

Following a telephonic conversation with SAD Delhi unit President Harmeet Singh Kalka and DSGMC President Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Sukhbir Singh Badal said that they will make arrangement for 'Langer' and other essential items for farmers in Delhi on November 26-27.

"I have spoken to Delhi unit of Shiromani Akali Dal and DSGMC head and requested them to extend all possible help to farmers fighting against black farm acts that are forced on them. I appeal to all workers of SAD to extend help to farmers fighting for their rights", said Badal.

Meanwhile, DSGMC president Manjinder Singh Sirsa assured all possible help for the protesting farmers in Delhi.

Badal also simultaneously requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to resolve the grievances of the farmers at the earliest. He said the Centre should scrap the three contentious central legislations on agricultural marketing which had been rejected by the farming community. He said the government should bring in a legislation to guarantee minimum support price (MSP) and ensure assured government purchase on MSP.

Shiromani Akali Dal had pulled out of NDA and Harsimrat Kaur Badal resigned from the Union Cabinet against the farm laws. The Centre had invited farmer organisations for a meeting on November 13 in Delhi. The government has invited them again on December 3.
