4 NSCN (IM) insurgents killed, jawan injured in Arunachal Pradesh encounter

Itanagar (Arunachal Pradesh): As many as four NSCN (IM) cadres were killed, while one Assam Rifles personnel was reportedly injured in an encounter between insurgents and security forces in Longding district or Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday.

According to reports, a joint team of the Assam Rifles and the Arunachal Pradesh police conducted an early morning action near Nginu village in Longding district.

Four NSCN (IM) armed cadres were killed in the resulting encounter.

One soldier of Assam Rifles was also injured in the operation and is reportedly being evacuated to a military hospital.

According to reports, six weapons along with war-like stores were also recovered in the operation, which took place at around 4:30 am. Among the weapons recovered were four AK-47 rifles and two Chinese MQ.

The operation is still underway, Arunachal Pradesh DGP RP Upadhyaya informed.
