A student from AP's Anantapur district pursuing ITI second year got the shock of life on receiving a message saying that his Aadhaar update application has been rejected as he's declared dead. The message further states that his death had been confirmed by his family members.

Anantapur (AP): Sairaj student from AP's Anantapur district pursuing ITI second year got the shock of life on receiving a message saying that his Aadhaar update application has been rejected as he's declared dead. The message further states that his death had been confirmed by his family members.

The student who is a resident of Uravakonda town was informed by his college faculty to get his Aadhaar card updated to avail ‎'Jagananna Vidya Deevena Scheme'. It was in February 2020, that he had applied to get the benefit of the scheme.

However, a few days later, Sairaj received a message on his phone saying, "The application will not be accepted as the member with the Aadhaar number you have applied for was dead and his death has been confirmed by their family members."

On seeing the message, Sairaj and his father Srinivasulu were taken aback.

Since then, both the son and father's efforts to resolve the issue went in vain. Even though the duo had met officials and roamed around various government offices in this regard there was no use.

As a result, the victim was not able to avail ration and other government welfare schemes besides education.

Siraj's father Srinivasulu laments saying, "It has been three months since the death of my wife... and now even my son has been falsely reported as dead by authorities." He also requested the authorities to respond immediately and correct the mistake.

''For the past 2 years, I could not receive Vidya Deevena. When I asked the officials, they suggested me to update my Aadhaar. On having applied for the updation, I received a message stating that my death was confirmed by my family, although I was still alive. I visited every government office to resolve the issue but still, no appropriate response was received from them. As a result, I was unable to receive any government schemes and was not able to avail ration too,'' said Sairaj.
