Chandigarh: Punjab government has decided to reduce the security of former ministers, MLAs, and MPs. According to sources, among 184 people, the security for the family of former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi has been withdrawn. Apart from it, security of son of former Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa has also been withdrawn. Security has also been withdrawn from former Punjab Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal's son Arjun Badal and Capt Amarinder Singh's son Raninder Singh.

Opposition parties said that they have no objection to their security being withdrawn asking why security has been provided to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's mother and sister. At the same time, they asked why the ministers of the Mann government were moving around with an army of commandos.

Akali Dal leader Virsa Singh Valtoha has questioned the security provided to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's family. Valtoha questioned why security has been provided to the sister and mother of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. He also asked why there are three pilot gypsies and 20 commandos with the ministers. Youth Congress President Brindar Dhillon asked why the ministers of AAP government have been given commandos and pilot gypsies. "What did he do in a month that put him in danger?" asked Dhillon.

Reacting to the allegation AAP spokesperson Neil Garg said, "What is the danger to these people if security returns?" He further added that the gunmen were kept only for the status symbol which would be brought back and used for public safety. He also said that misinformation was being spread about AAP ministers and their families.
