Bhubaneswar: At least six people have been reported dead in Odisha as heavy rains lashed most parts of the state in the past 48 hours as the depression over the Bay of Bengal had intensified, informed the Special Relief Commissioner’s (SRC’s) Office.
The 'Situation Report on Heavy Rain' released to the press this evening stated that three people died due to a wall collapse in Kendrapara district, another drowned in Khordha district, while two others were reported dead in Ganjam and Subarnpur. Meanwhile, 2 persons missing were also reported.

Around, five Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) and two National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams have been deployed in Balasore, Bhadrak and Kendrapada districts.
The report also mentioned that a total of 23,82,795 people have been affected in 4,964 villages and 33 urban local bodies (ULBs) in 139 blocks across 24 districts.
The affected districts are Anugul, Baragarh, Balasore, Boudha, Cuttack, Deogarh, Dhenkanal, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Ganjam, Kalahandi, Kendrapada, Keonjhar, Khorda, Koraput, Naygarh, Nuapada, Puri, Subarnpur, Mayurbhanj, Nayagarh, Nuapada and Jahrsuguda.
