Jaipur (Rajasthan): Amid the vaccine shortage in the country, a Jaipur based hospital has filed a missing complaint of 320 doses of coronavirus vaccine on Wednesday.
The incident took place at the Kanwatiya Hospital in Shastri Nagar of Jaipur.
According to Chief Medical Officer Narottam Sharma, ten vials of Bharat Biotech's Covid-19 vaccine- Covaxin- gone missing from the cold storage following which the complaint was lodged in Shastrinagar police station. Notably, Kanwatiya hospital responsible for the distribution of the vaccine to the various hospital located in the area.

Earlier on April 9, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting him to provide at least 30 lakh doses of Covid vaccine to the state. In the letter, the Chief Minister said that the state is aiming to increase the pace of vaccination to 5 lakh beneficiaries each day, but the vaccine stock left would last for only two more days.
Meanwhile, Rajasthan reported 5,528 new COVID-19 cases and 28 fatalities, pushing the state's infection tally to 3,75,092 and the death toll to 2,979. A total of 3,31,423 COVID-19 patients have recovered so far, and the number of active cases of the disease in the state stands at 40,690.
