Domestic Airlines May Soon Have To Share Weather Data With IMD: Official

Good times are ahead for the domestic airline industry as it will see operating profits rise more than 20% next fiscal, after a near-tripling this fiscal, fuelled by a strong recovery in passenger traffic, the ability to pass on volatile fuel prices to flyers, and reduced fluctuation in foreign exchange rates, according to a CRISIL Ratings report released on Tuesday.

The domestic aviation industry has experienced a remarkable surge in passenger traffic during the first eight months of 2023 According to a release from the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA), "The number of passengers carried by domestic airlines from January to August 2023 reached an impressive 1,190.62 lakhs, marking a substantial increase of 38.27% compared to the same period last year."
