Pathanamthitta: Three students from Chuttippara SME College of Nursing have been arrested in connection with the death of their classmate, Ammu Sajeev, police said. The arrested students, Alina Dileep, A T Akshitha, and Anjana Madhu, face charges of abetment to suicide.

Ammu, a fourth-year (link unavailable) nursing student, died after falling from the roof of the hostel building last Friday evening. Her family alleges that continuous mental harassment by her classmates contributed to her death.

The family claims that they had complained to the college authorities about the bullying, but no action was taken. The college administration, however, maintains that the issue was resolved.

The Pathanamthitta police have launched an investigation and concluded that the death was a suicide attributed to a dispute between classmates. The police have recorded statements from Ammu's brother, Akhil, and have sent her mobile phone for scientific examination.

Ammu's family has raised concerns about inconsistencies in the official accounts and has vowed to approach the government for a high-level investigation. Student organizations, including the Kerala Students' Union (KSU), have staged protests demanding justice for Ammu.
