Hyderabad: In a shocking turn of events, a prominent film producer from Bangladesh with ties to the West Bengal film industry was lynched along with his son as violent protests engulfed the country earlier this week. Selim Khan, the chairman of the Lakshmipur Model Union Parishad (UP), and his son, the actor Shanto Khan, were beaten to death on Monday.

Bangladeshi media reports indicate that the actor-producer duo were attempting to escape from their area when they encountered an angry mob at Forkkabad Bazaar in Balia Union. Despite firing shots from their pistols to fend off the crowd and protect themselves, they soon faced another mob nearby.

The violence in Bangladesh has escalated following Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's departure from the country. Prominent figures are increasingly becoming victims of this chaos. It has been confirmed by local media that Shanto Khan and his father were brutally attacked by a mob in Chandpur, Bangladesh, and both succumbed to their injuries.

Additionally, the violence has extended to the entertainment industry, with singer Rahul Ananda's house being set on fire by the mob. Rahul Ananda, the lead of the Joler Gaan band, faced a devastating attack on his 140-year-old home, where 3,000 of his musical instruments were destroyed.

Fortunately, Rahul, his wife, and their 13-year-old son managed to escape in time and are safe. In response to the tragedy, the Joler Gaan band shared a heartfelt post on social media, reminiscing about creating music at Rahul's home. They also posted a video of their last jam session at the house before it was burned down.

In their post, they questioned, "We might be able to rebuild the musical instruments, songs, or even our family over time. But how do we extinguish the fire of anger and vengeance? Why can't we overcome everything with love and compassion?"
