Katni(MP):A government school teacher here has been performing 'Kanya Pujan' every day for the last 41 years, for which his name has been registered in the Indian Book of Records.
Raja Bhaiya Soni is a teacher at Luharwara Government Primary School and Kanya Pujan has been a part of his routine for all these years.
His idea is to spread the message of 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' among people.
It has been a ritual for him to wash the girls' feet with 'Gangajal' and serv them sweets early in the morning.
Kanya Pujan is a Hindu ritual in which nine girls, said to represent the nine forms of Goddess Durga, are worshipped. They are offered delicacies and gifts too.
Raja Bhaiya Soni believes that every woman in the world should be revered because they are the ones from whom everyone is created. The villagers hold him with high regard for all the efforts he does make for the little girls.
