Family performed funeral rituals for their cow, who has been part of the family for over 12 years. Its owner Rambabu claimed that 'Lakshmi', the cow, was sick and even treatment could not heal her.

Hyderabad:The symbolic funeral rites are performed to acknowledge the reality of death. However, this family is yet to come to terms with the death of their beloved cow, whose funeral ceremony was held with the expression of grief and sorrow.

The incident reportedly occurred at Nuzividu in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh, where the family performed a funeral ceremony for their cow.

According to Rambabu, the cow was gifted to him and has been staying with the family for several years now.

Rambabu, a gravedigger by profession, claimed that 'Lakshmi' - the cow was sick for the past several days and even medical treatment could not heal her. This further lead to the animal's death.

The family then decided to conduct the ceremony consistent with the traditional rituals, with several witnesses showcasing grief, love and compassion.
