Maharashtra Dog Trouble: Women Attack Man, Family Over His Pet's Barking Noise; Thane Police Book 10

The women who are neigbhours of the vegetable vendor got annoyed by his dog's barking and gave him and his family a sound thrashing.

Thane: A case has been registered against 10 women in Maharashtra's Thane district after they allegedly attacked a man and his family in a fit of rage over the barking of his pet dog. The incident occurred on Sunday evening in Ambivili, Kalyan, a locality in Thane, where the accused women, who are neighbours to the victim, stormed into his house and assaulted him, his wife and their daughter.

According to the police, the victim, a vegetable vendor, has previous disputes with the accused women over various issues. On Sunday, tensions escalated when the vendor's pet dog began barking in the locality, which angered the women. The group of women rushed to the vendor's house, where they physically attacked him and his family members. The victims sustained injuries during the assault.

The violence did not end there. The women allegedly pelted stones at the vendor's house, causing damage to the property and further escalating the situation. The family was left shaken and injured, prompting them to seek medical attention.

Following the incident, the vendor filed a complaint with the Khadakpada police station, leading to the registration of an FIR on Monday. The women have been charged with various offences, including violence, unlawful assembly, criminal trespass, and provocation with malicious intent. Further investigation into the matter is underway, the official from Khadakpada police station said.

The injured family members have received medical care, and the authorities have assured that strict action will be taken against the accused. (With PTI Inputs)
