Umaria: 'Chhota Bheem', one of the most famous tigers of Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve, died while undergoing treatment for multiple fractures on its legs and neck at Bhopal's Van Vihar on Sunday.
Chhota Bheem was being treated for the last two months under the supervision of expert veterinary doctors. The cause of Chhota Bheem's death is attributed to congestive heart failure. Veterinarians tried their best to save Chhota Bheem but due to a critical injury in the throat, the tiger was having trouble breathing. Chhota Bheem's condition worsened due to infection.
Chhota Bheem was rescued from forest between Khetauli and Panpatha range of Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve on November 29 last year. The tiger had critical injuries in its neck and throat. On November 26, a tourist had informed the Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve management of the injury mark on Chhota Bheem's throat, and also made the video viral. The Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve management then started searching for the tiger which was rescued on November 29. During inspection it was found that a clutch wire was stuck in Chhota Bheem's throat. As its condition was critical, Chhota Bheem was sent to Van Vihar in Bhopal for treatment where he had been fighting the battle between life and death for the last over two months.
